How to Install and Activate Antivirus Software

After buying, you'll usually receive an email with a license key or account sign-in details. Download the installer only from the manufacturer's official website, run it, and enter your license key or sign in when prompted — usually during setup or from an 'activate' menu inside the app afterward.

Uninstall any other antivirus product first. Running two real-time antivirus engines at once commonly causes conflicts, performance issues, or false detections of each other. Most manufacturers document this directly — check their support pages if you're unsure how to fully remove a previous product.

Double-check the key was entered exactly as sent (keys are case-sensitive and easy to mistype), confirm your device count hasn't already been used up on other devices, and check your internet connection, since activation requires reaching the manufacturer's servers. If it still fails, contact the seller you bought from, or the manufacturer's support team through its official website. Never call a support number shown in a pop-up or search ad you don't recognize, and never let an unsolicited caller connect to your computer.
