About ShieldScout

ShieldScout exists because most "best antivirus" content online is either recycled marketing copy or a thin wrapper around affiliate links, with rankings that quietly track commission rates instead of actual protection. We built this site to do the opposite: compare antivirus software using numbers you can independently verify.

What we actually do

Every product page on this site cites the specific independent lab test it's drawing from —AV-TEST andAV-Comparativesare the two we rely on most, because both publish their methodology and test the same set of products under the same conditions. We cross-check pricing directly against each vendor's own official pages rather than reprinting numbers from other comparison sites, and we note when introductory pricing differs meaningfully from the standard renewal rate.

What we don't do

• We don't publish star ratings or "customer reviews" that aren't real, verified feedback.
• We don't accept payment in exchange for a better score or higher ranking.
• We don't claim to run our own malware-testing lab — we're transparent that our protection data comes from AV-TEST and AV-Comparatives, not from tests we performed ourselves.
• We don't invent fictional "security expert" bylines with fabricated credentials.

Content is researched against primary sources — lab reports and vendor documentation — and reviewed for accuracy before publishing.
