How to Check Windows Software Compatibility Before Buying

Check your Windows version first
Open Settings > System > About to see your exact Windows edition and version/build number. Most consumer security software today targets Windows 10 and 11, but minimum build requirements can change with major manufacturer releases.
Compare against the publisher's requirements, not assumptions
Our product overviews list supported platforms and typical system requirements, but the manufacturer's own product page (linked from each overview) is the authoritative source. Check there before buying, especially if you're on an older or unusual configuration.
32-bit vs 64-bit, and architecture
Most modern security software targets 64-bit Windows only. If you're running an older 32-bit installation, confirm compatibility with the manufacturer directly before purchasing, since this detail isn't always surfaced prominently on marketing pages.
